The History of Men

WE need to dispense with the history of men, of nations, of founders and legends in the West. We can start at the beginning, with the Greeks. They were monsters, who valued livestock over women, fucked little boys, and were only a democracy of the rich. The city-states fought among one another, brutally, for greed not freedom. They executed Socrates simply for speaking his ideas, which we now idolize. It is like a Christian holding up as an example of excellence the bureaucracy that executed the Christ as a foundation of modern society. What actually elevated Greek society to its historical relevance was its final defeat at the hands of the comparatively more civilized Persians, who are now routinely shown as monsters and villains. That is a lie. The Persians, though by no means modern, were more tolerant, diverse, organized and civilized. Their conquest of Greece was the catalyst for a not quite Greek neighbor, the Macedonians, to strengthen and grow into the force that Alexander, not a Greek, used to take the organization and culture of Persia, and to conquer the known world with it, including Persia. But that empire was called Greek. A Greek didn’t create it, the organization that allowed it was Persian, and Greeks were misogynistic brutal assholes anyway.

THE historical torch then passes to Rome, which was growing up around some ‘Greek’ colonies on the Italian peninsula. And they were even bigger assholes. By their own account, they were founded by the lost scion of a neighboring tribe, who’s first act was to trick the neighboring tribes to come to a religious party, and then massacre them and take and rape their women. The cognitive dissonance of our society’s knowledge of Rome’s beginning in lies, murder and rape contrasted to it’s place as the progenitor of western democracy and cultural heritage is so ensconced in our view of our own history that it is never acknowledged. Rome was an empire based on slavery and genocide for an exponentially longer time than it was a misogynist half democracy based on the abduction and rape of their neighbors. Yet for centuries and to this day we trace the roots of our modern humanist and democratic views through the empires of these fucking assholes.

IT doesn’t get better after this. Histories are told by the victors, and the victors are lying through their teeth. After the fall of Rome due to the inevitable collapse of a slave economy, Europe is a backwater shit hole for a thousand years, unimportant on the world stage until it accidentally finds a few continents hidden and a little behind in technology through historical and geographical accident. It then builds the foundations of our modern world through five hundred years of pillage, genocide, slavery, rape and conquest all the while flaunting superficial and completely ignored bullshit religions of peace, love, individual freedom and responsibility. It’s complete garbage, and we still believe it. Our modern take on Vikings, in television shows and otherwise, illustrates this. They were baby killing, everyone raping, whole-town and priest murdering assholes but we honor their toughness and fighting spirit. Imagine a thousand years from now a TV show that shows how tough and smart Hitler was and how it was circumstance that led to his massacre of six million Jews, because that’s what’s happening now, except it’s Vikings. Fuck the Ancestors. All of them. Or at least most of them.

OUR ancestors were pieces of shit. And yeah, so are we. The cognitive dissonance of our modern time is not new, it is the true heritage of western civilization. The largest military power in the world, more powerful than the next ten nations combined, is never referred to as an empire. It is called a democracy even by its own citizens, where it is blatantly not so, even in its constitution it is not so, and was founded on a slave economy anyway. So let us dispense with the history of men, because it is bullshit. We are descended from rapists and the raped, and we inherit their power and their lies, their powerlessness and their pain.

THOMAS Jefferson and George Washington were slave owning racists. Gandhi was racist and misogynist for a lot of his life if not all of it. The Native Americans were constantly killing and enslaving each other, including the ridiculous amount of human sacrifice found in Central and South America. Fuck them all. I’m serious. Stop looking to them for clues of anything except brutal animistic ignorance.

I don’t mean to pick on the West exclusively, it’s just easier because I am western and it’s the biggest thing around to poke at the moment. The empires of Asia and the East were also piles of crap. India had its racist caste system, which they will say all day long was not racist, but which is obviously based on skin pigmentation. Islam was founded by a military dictator who forced prepubescent girls to fuck him, marry him and hey, peace be upon him because otherwise he will kill you and fuck your nine year old daughter. The nations of Africa gladly killed, enslaved and sold their neighbors and cousins to the Northern empires, Japan gladly massacred the original peoples of their island before beating the shit out of Korea and China, and China has three thousand years of back and forth bullshit. It’s hard to tell which was more evil. I just assume they all sucked and who cares who sucked worse. The important point is that everyone alive today is descended from assholes, any exceptions just proving the rule, and that any decent future cannot be inspired by the past, or the lies we tell ourselves about it.

ONE may at this point want to point out the benefits of all this empire, genocide and rape – technology and population. But that’s almost like a modern pig in a modern factory farm realizing his situation of short enslaved life followed by massacre and remarking, ‘Yes, but look how many of us there are and we don’t have to worry about sickness or wolves anymore.’

SO far as I know, I am the only person to have this opinion. Trusting in the immense diversity of our world, and the inherent non-uniqueness of any individual human, I believe there must be others out there who see this as I do. This manuscript is a call to my people. Where are you?
